The Week Ahead For The Last Week of November

The S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100, Russell 2000 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were lower for the week.

1.Geopolitical and Fiscal Events. A quiet week ahead with Thanksgiving taking on a somber tone in the year of Coronavirus.

2.Economic Releases. Releases of note this week include the weekly chain store sales, oil/gas numbers, mortgage applications and jobless claims as well as consumer confidence, Q2 GDP, durable goods, new home sales, personal income, University of Michigan Consumers Senitment and FOMC Minutes.

3.Earnings Releases. Notable releases this upcoming week included A WMG MDT VMW ADSK DE ATHM TCOM.

Monday, November 23

None of note.

Tuesday, November 24

November Consumer Confidence is due out at 10:00 a.m. EST and is expected to fall to 96.5 from 100.90.

Wednesday, November 25

Q2 GDP (second update) is due out at 8:30 a.m. EST and is expected to remain at 33.1%.

October Durable Goods is due out at 8:30 a.m. EST and is expected to fall to 0.8% from 1.9%.

October New Home Sales is due out at 10:00 a.m. EST and is expected to rise to 977,000 from 959,000.

October Personal Income is due out at 10:00 a.m. EST and is expected to fall to 0.0% from 0.9%.

November University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment is due out at 10:00 a.m. EST as well and is expected to remain at 77.

October FOMC Minutes are due out at 2:00 p.m. EST.

Thursday, November 26

Markets are closed in the U.S. for Thanksgiving.

Friday, November 27

U.S. Stock Markets close at 1:00 p.m. EDT and the bond market closes at 2:00 p.m. EST.
