[Printable Version of This Page] Morning Matters:The Week Ahead For September 14th to 18th The NASDAQ 100, Dow Jones Industrial Average, Russell 200 and S&P 500 were lower for a second week. 1.Geopolitical and Fiscal Events. The FOMC is out with it latest announcement so Fed speakers are on embargo through Wednesday. 2.Economic Releases. Releases of note this week include the weekly chain store sales, oil/gas numbers, mortgage applications and jobless claims as well as Industrial Production, FOMC announcement, Retail Sales, NAHB Housing Starts, Philly Fed Index, Leading Indicators and University of Michigan Sentiment Index. 3.Earnings Releases. Notable releases this upcoming week include LEN WB ADBE FDX CBRL DAVA SINA HTHT BRC CMD SCHL. Monday, September 14 Pfizer (PFE) holds their analyst meeting and is a Type 4 Long Squeeze. Tuesday, September 15 August Industrial Production is due out at 9:15 a.m. EDT and is expected to fall to 1.0% from 3.0%. The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) begins a two day meeting. Kraft Heinz (KHC) holds their investor day and is a Type 4 Long Squeeze. Wednesday, September 16 August Retail Sales is due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to come in at 1.0% from 1.20%. NAHB Housing Market Index is due out at 10:00 a.m. EDT and is expected to remain at 78. The latest Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decision is due out at 2:00 p.m. EDT. Aflac (AFL) holds their investor day and is a Type 4 Long Squeeze. Thursday, September 17 August Housing Starts are due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to fall to 1,489,000 from 1,496,000. September Philadelphia Fed Index is due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to fall to 13 from 17.20. Moderna (MRNA) holds their annual R&D Day and is a Type 4 Long Squeeze. Friday, September 18 August Leading Indicators are due out at 10:00 a.m. EDT and are expected to remain at 1.4%. The September University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment is due out at 10:00 a.m. EDT and is expected to rise to 77 from 74.1. |
