Morning Matters Portfolio Up Nicely In 2019
So far in 2019, the S&P 500 is up 15.22% from 14.86% last Friday for 2019. The Morning Matters Portfolio is up 11.50% from 11.28% last week. We are 75% invested which in theory means the portfolio should be up 11.41% if the S&P 500 is up 15.22%. So we are tracking our benchmark relative to the percentage invested especially that we added three ideas during the first quarter, one each month.
The portfolio is now 75% invested long, 0% short and 25% in cash, net long 75%. For 2017, the value of the portfolio was 970.84%. For 2018, the portfolio value was 927.81% and is now 1048.40% in 2019.

Ford (F) Viacom (VIAB) Blackberry (BB) China via FXI AT&T (T) Micron (MU) Facebook (FB) Google (GOOGL) and Walt Disney Inc. (DIS)
Dividends are not included in our results unless there is a special one time payment.
We positioned in late December that, "Markets are setting up for an epic buying opportunity last seen in 2015 or 2011". So far that has proven to be correct but the easy money is in and the second quarter will likely not see the return that we saw in the current quarte but so far looks to be a positive quarter.
