The Week Ahead: Lead Story The Summit In Singapore

The S&P 100, Russell 2000, Dow Jones Industrial Average and NASDAQ 100 were all higher for the week.

1.Geopolitical and Fiscal Events. Tuesday sees President Trump meet with North Korean President Kim Jong-un in Singapore. Wednesday sees the FOMC make its latest announcement. Friday sees Federal Reserve Dallas President Robert Kaplan speak in Fort Worth.

2.Economic Releases. Releases of note this week and next include the weekly chain store sales, oil/gas numbers, mortgage applications and jobless claims as well as CPI, PPI, FOMC Decision, retail sales, Michigan Sentiment and industrial production.

3.Earnings Releases. Notable releases next week include RH PLAY HRB CASY KFY TLRD ADBE JBL.

Monday, June 11

The latest short interest data from the NYSE and NASDAQ is due out after the close and runs through the end of May 31.

Tuesday, June 12

May CPI is out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to rise to 0.3% from 0.2%.

The latest Federal Reserve Open Market Committee (FOMC) begins and concludes tomorrow.

President Trump meets with North Korean President Kim Jong-un in Singapore to discuss denuclearization.

Wednesday, June 13

May PPI is out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to rise to 0.3% from 0.1%.

The latest Federal Reserve Open Market Committee (FOMC) announcement is due at 2:00 p.m. EDT and then a press conference at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

Thursday, June 14

May Retail Sales are due out at 8:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to rise to 0.4% from 0.3%.

Friday, June 15

May Industrial Production is due out at 9:15 a.m. EDT and is expected to fall to 0.2% from 0.7%.

University of Michigan Sentiment is due out at 10:00 a.m. EDT and is expected to rise to 99 from 98.
